A new beginning...

As we wound down our last couple of days in Vancouver, a few things became apparent when planning:

  1. You can always use more time
  2. Even when you have no time, you can still find time to waste it (like silly hat shopping)
  3. No matter how organised you want to be, not everything will get done (like booking the rest of your plane tickets)
Don't mess with me!
Mess with me and wear my coffee!

There were a few last minute things to pack at chateu de t-chien:
3 kites 1 bag
We finally got it all packed up, and with a ride to the airport from Dave at 7am in the morning, the adventure begins...
I think we forgot the kitchen sink?
We will be spending the next few days with family before flying to Brazil on Wednesday.

Monica says she is rationing her blog posts because she doesn't want to bring blogger down too often with all the hits she will get on her epic posts. I am holding my breath.

You don't need a hat to be silly.
Thanks to the Spot Tracker that was gifted to us, you can now see exactly where we are at any given time:

A MIG Goodbye

Today marks the last day that both Monica and I will be at McKesson for a while. It has been an amazing experience, and it is hard to believe that the time we had planned for is finally here.

A big thank you to all the wonderful people at MIG, and all our friends and family for their support in this next chapter.

Still packing... plus the most awesome machine in the world!

Note the wooden fenders and leather bar tape
It feels as though I have been packing for four days! Edit: I have been packing for four days, but there have had some great distractions.

Friday was a visit from Marussia and Devinder with the kids for a much needed break at the Olympic Village. I don't think the village has seen as much nudity since the Olympics, but the kids sure did enjoy all the water features courtesy of our tax dollars.

Saturday saw a quick break to see the Trout Lake Farmers' Market: definitely the best market in town, with free bike valet. Great produce and nice bikes.

Strawberries and blueberries - good caveman food
Tomatoes

Next we took a quick stop at the most amazing machine in the world. Yes, the only machine in Vancouver that will count your change for you (for a minor 9.9% fee) located at the SuperValue on Commercial Drive. We had a small bucket full of change that came out to just over $40 which was nothing compared to the two milk jars full of coins that Travis had:
shirt buttons are always optional

Tdawgs big haul

As usual, found some distractions - nothing beats a good playground to not pack up your apartment at.

"Peter, we have to go home and keep packing!"
"Monica, I thought you said we had to go home and keep packing?"

Let the packing begin!

After weeks of agonizing over renting our place which included sleepless nights, never ending discussions and tons of stress - it's finally done!!  We have a lovely student that will be making our home her home.  A big thanks to our family and friends for putting up with two totally self-centered stress balls that could only talk about the apartment.  We love you and appreciate all of your support.

Now it's on to the packing - it's amazing how a tiny kitchen can turn into so many boxes.  I mean really, why do we have all of this stuff and where did it come from?!

Have you no Pride?

With Monica's friend Wakana in town, we decided to go and hit the Pride parade in style. Sporting a handlebar mustache, I thought I would try and blend in with the crowd.

Upon arrival, I realized that unless I could find a can of blue paint, and chain mail underpants, I would stick out like a sore thumb.

Monica traded me in for a real man.

And Wakana and I were abducted by a four armed man with no shirt on.
